Internet:(从交流的角度) It is often claimed that the internet is one of the most brilliant innovations in human history and that it makes our planet a global village by connecting billions of people of different races, cultures and religions. Wherever you are, as long as you have access to the internet, you can reach anyone by email or using chat-room or posting a notice on BBS. Nevertheless,in my opinion, a deep and thorough analysis is needed to understand the communicative function of the internet. On one hand, there is no denying that computer and the internet have greatly facilitated our communication with their fast speed, high reliability and versatile capabilities. An interesting phenomenon is that email is emerging as the favorite form of human communication, replacing letters and telephone calls, both of which are time-consuming and costly.Even greeting cards can be sent with emails, called e-cards,which users can select on a menu and deliver with a click of the mouse. Moreover, the communication between organizations and individuals are significantly enhanced. Corporations that want to do advertising on the internet can put the message on their websites, attracting prospective buyers to know more details about their products and services.Because the internet is an interactive means of communication, customers can also air their views on the company websites, giving valuable feedbacks and recommendations. On the other hand, communication via the internet has some demerits. For one thing, messages in emails and chat-rooms or on BBS tend to be very superficial and even meaningless. A substantial number of messages stem from sheer human boredom instead of a real need for information exchange. Also, people using the internet are prone to hide their true feelings because they face a machine rather than other human beings. In stark contrast with letters, which are a more humane and intimate way of communication, and telephone calls,in which you hear another person's voice and perceive his emotions, internet communication often deprive the users of the milk of human kindness because of the intrinsically apathetic and stoic nature of the computer technology. In conclusion, although the internet makes human communication faster and more convenient,it is also a technology that may strip us of our humanity, a disadvantage that should not be overlooked.。

The Most Important Day in My LifeHave you ever been at sea in a dense fog when it seemed as if a tangible white darkness shut you in, and the great ship, tense and anxious, groped her way toward the shore? I was like that ship before my education began, only I had no way of knowing how near the harbor was. The most important day I remember in all my life is the one on which my teacher, Anne Mansfield Sullivan, came to me. I am filled with wonder when I consider the immeasurable contrast between the two lives which it connects. It was the third of March, 1887, three months before I was seven years old. On the afternoon of that exciting day, I guessed vaguely from my mother's signs and from the hurrying to and fro in the house that something unusual was about to happen, so I went to the door and waited on the steps. I felt approaching footsteps. I thought it was my mother and stretched out my hand. Someone took it, and then I was caught up and held close in the arms of the person who had come to reveal all things to me, and, more important than that, to love me. The morning after my teacher came she led me into her room and gave me a doll. When I had played with it a little while, Miss Sullivan slowly spelled into my hand the word “d-o-l-l”. I was at once interested in this finger play and tried to imitate it. When I finally succeeded in making the letters correctly I was filled with childish pleasure and pride. Running downstairs to my mother I held up my hand and made the letters for doll. I did not know that I was spelling a word or even that words existed; I simply made my fingers go in monkey-like imitation. In the days that followed I learned to spell in this uncomprehending way many words, among them, “pin”, “hat”, “cup”, and a few verbs like “sit”, “stand” and “walk”, but my teacher had been with me several weeks before I understood that everything has a name. One day while I was playing with my new doll, Miss Sullivan gave me my old doll, too. She then spelled “d-o-l-l” and tried to make me understand that “d-o-l-l” applied to both. Earlier in the day, we had a struggle over the two words “m-u-g” is “mug” and “w-a-t-e-r” is “water” , but I persisted in mixing up the two. I became impatient and, seizing the new doll, I dashed it on the floor, breaking it into pieces. I was not sorry after my fit of temper. In the dark, still world, I had no strong sentiment for anything. My teacher brought me my hat, and I knew we were going out into the warm sunshine. We walked down the path to the well-house. Someone was drawing water, and my teacher placed my hand under the spout. As the cool stream gushed over one hand, she spelled into the other word water, first slowly, then rapidly. I stood still; my whole attention was fixed upon the movements of her finger. Suddenly I seemed to remember something I had forgotten — a thrill of returning thought – and the mystery of language was revealed to me. I knew then that the “w-a-t-e-r” meant that wonderful cool something that was flowing over my hand. That living word awakened my soul and set it free. I left the well-house eager to learn. Everything had a name and each name gave birth to a new thought. As we returned to the house, every object which I touched seemed to be full of life. That was because I saw everything with a strange, new sight that had come to me. On entering the door I remembered the doll I had broken. I felt my way to the fragments and tried in vain to put them together. Then my eyes were filled with tears, for I realized what I had done, and for the first time I felt sorry. I learned a lot of new words that day. It would have been difficult to find a happier child than me when I lay in my small bed that night and thought of the joys that day had brought to me, and for the first time I longed for a new day to come.。

What animals mean to human being, close friends or lists of recipe? Some people consider that animals should be regarded as friends instead of food or sources of clothing, while the opponents think animals are born to service for human being.

As far as I am concerned, I advocate the former's opinoin. There are two main reasons for that. First of all, it is known that more and more rare animals are endangered, because of the human being's capture. People peel off the animals' skin to make coats and use their further to make clothes, even eating the meat of extinct animals and don't care whether the food is delious or not, only because it is rare and not easily available. Which definitely leads to the extinction of certain animals. On the other hand, with the development of civilization, people should acknowledge that every creature has its right to live. Which guaranteea the harmony of the earth. Thus people need to show their respect to the animals and let them live better instead of hurting them or killing them. This behavior should be forbidden in today's civilized circumstance.

In conclusion, presently animals are no longer regarded as sources of food and clothing. In stead, animals are people's close friends who can company people especially to the olders who always like rearing the pets with whose company the olders don't feel lonely any more. For those animals who are disapearing, people need to pay more attention to them to aviod their extinction. Otherwise people could only see them in museum, not in the nature. What a pity.

Chinese values in transition With China's rapid social and economic development in the past 30 years of reform and opening-up, some traditional Chinese values are being replaced quicly by new ones. For example, the traditional value of "Savings are good and thrift is virtue" is gradually replaced by the concept of "spending tomorrow's money for today's comfort." More and more people, especially the younger generations, are using credit cards for daily consumption or bank loans for housing and automobile purchases. New terms, such as "card slaves" and "mortgage slaves," have vividly reflected this kind of social change. For thousands of years, the Chinese take pride in their thrifty tradition, with preachings like "saving half of every penny you earn". The older generations, such as those now in their 50s or 60s, will not buy a house of their own until they have saved sufficient money to pay for it once and for all. However, their children today are buying large apartments just one year or two after their college graduation, either seeking financial support from the parents or getting loans from the banks. Many of them have to spend at least half of their monthly income on the heavy mortgage burdens. So how should we see these changes of social values in modern China? Well, it's hard to say, because every coin has two sides. Still take the saving and spending issue as an example: On the one hand, the people's willingness to spend more and even spend a lot of borrowed money is good for the economy, because it will boost domestic consumption and serve as a new engine of growth. On the other hand, it may also lead to some people's bad habit of over-spending, like what we can see in some developed countries, causing financial instability and even resulting in some kind of crisis like the one that hit Wall Street in 2008. Therefore, I believe that when we should embrace new values with an open mind, we should also cherish the good, old values and try to strike a balance between the old and the new. 绝对精品,完全原创,请放心采用,并酌情加分,谢谢。

Jerry Baldwin was 30 years old. He was the manager of a pizza restaurant. He lived in an apartment about one mile north of the restaurant. He walked to and from work. When it was raining, he took the bus.

Jerry loved gangster movies. When a new one came out, he would go to the theater and watch the new movie three or four times. Then, when it went to video, Jerry would buy the video at Barney's Video Store. Jerry had a home collection of over 1,000 gangster videos. Old ones, new ones, color, black and white, English, Spanish, Japanese--he loved them all. He could tell you the name of the movie, the director, the stars, and the plot. Did you say you liked “Pulp Fiction”? Well, Jerry would rattle off all the details of that movie. And then he would invite you to his place to watch it some time. He was a nice guy.

Jerry finally decided that he would like to own a gun, just like the gangsters. So he saved his money for a couple of years. Then he went to a gun store and bought a used .38 caliber revolver for $300. While there, he also bought a couple of boxes of aition. The following Saturday morning, he went to the gun club to practice with his new revolver. He was in the club for only 10 minutes when he accidentally dropped his pistol. The gun went off, and the bullet went into Jerry's right knee.

Ability and good looks

When talking about the topic which is more important, ability or good looks, different people have different opinions.

In those eld man's eyes, they thought ability is more important than good looks. The old saying goes, good looks cann't full one's hunger.Whatever you do,you must have the ability in it,whenever in the past or today.

However, nowadays, many people believe that good looks take advantages than ability in the reality.Without good looks, many enterprise doesn't accept.

But in my opinion,my view is more tend to the former opion. After all, most people believe in that do not to value a person with its appearance.Although you own a perfect looks, you have no ability and talents, you are nothing.

Not everything is perfect!Ability can be improve !And also with the development of science, looks can be good looks also! Thus,on the current point of view, also ability is more important than good looks!

环境保护(Environmental

Today the quality of our natural environment has become an important issue. The world population is rising so quickly that the world has become too crowded.

We are using up our natural resources and at the same time polluting our environment with dangerous chemicals. If we continue to do this, life on earth cannot survive.

Concerned people have made some progress in environmental protection. Governments of many countries have established laws to protect the air, forests and sea resources and to stop environmental pollution.

Still more measures should be taken to solve environmental problems. People should be further educated to recognize the importance of the problems, to use modern methods of birth control, to conserve our natural resources and recycle our products. We are sure that we can have a better and cleaner place in the future.

Mathematics is the study of quantity, structure, space, and change.Mathematicians seek out patternsand formulate new conjectures. Mathematicians resolve the truth or falsity of conjectures by mathematical proof. The research required to solve mathematical problems can take years or even centuries of sustained inquiry. Since the pioneering work of Giuseppe Peano (1858–1932), David Hilbert (1862–1943), and others on axiomatic systems in the late 19th century, it has become customary to view mathematical research as establishing truth by rigorous deduction from appropriately chosen axioms and definitions. When those mathematical structures are good models of real phenomena, then mathematical reasoning often provides insight or predictions.。

A fifteen-year-old boy was injured in a car accident when the minivan he was traveling in was hit by a pickup truck at an intersection. The boy was taken to a nearby hospital. The paramedics said that it appeared that the boy had nothing more serious than a broken left leg, but that internal injuries were always a possibility. The boy was conscious and alert. His mother, who was driving, was uninjured. She said that the truck appeared out of nowhere, and she thought she was going to die. She turned the steering wheel sharply to the left, and the truck hit her minivan on the passenger side.

The driver of the truck was a 50-year-old man who was unemployed and apparently had been drinking—police found 18 empty beer cans inside the truck. The man denied drinking, but he failed the police test for sobriety. When asked to touch his nose with his arms outstretched and eyes closed, he was unable to touch any part of his head.

The handcuffed man asked the police if they knew where “Mabel” was as he was put into the back seat of the police vehicle. The police asked him if Mabel was his wife. He said, “She's my dog, my dog! Where's my baby?” A dog with a collar, but no identification, minutes later, half a block away. The man was taken to the city jail and booked on suspicion of driving while intoxicated and on causing an accident
